q & a

Q: Do you have a second shooter?
A: Yes! I have a talented second shooter when needed or requested.
Q: Do you shoot weddings alone?
A: It depends on the level of investment selected. I offer a variety of options or you can custom create your wedding day needs.
Q: Do you edit the images?
A: Yes! I do my own post processing and edit all images. I include black & white edits as well.
Q: How many black & white images do we get?
A: Around 20% of the images will also be edited into black & white.
Q: Do you release the unedited images?
A: No. I do not release unedited images or RAW files.
Q: How long does it take to receive our wedding photos?
A: Please allow 2 weeks for regular session, and 8 to 10 weeks for a wedding, however I always strive to have them completed sooner.
Q: Do I get a print release with our photos?
A: All my collections include the print release.
Q: How many photos do we receive?
A: Each wedding is different and depends on the level of investment. Approximately 50-100 images per hour of services.
Q: What kind of equipment do you use?
A: I shoot everything in digital and I use all professional Canon equipment.
Q: Are you a natural light photographer?
A: Yes! Natural lighting is my ideal shooting preference, it’s also the most beautiful and flattering lighting there is, mother nature really knows what she’s doing! When planning your wedding, engagement or lifestyle session I prefer to shoot early morning (2 hours after sunrise) or in the evening (2 hours before sunset), this is when the lighting is absolutely gorgeous. Keep lighting in mind when planning your event or session whether it’s indoors or outdoors it will make a huge impact in your photos.
Q: Can guests/other people take pictures while you’re taking pictures?
A: I prefer if guests refrain from taking pictures (with a point-and-shoot, DSLR camera, or phone) during any posed shots, like bridal party or bride & groom. The other cameras flash may effect my photos or may distract the people in the photo to look another way. As a general rule, I do not allow guests to shadow me on weddings. We reserve the right to kindly tell a guest these rules. I also ask that guests don’t stand in or near the aisle during the ceremony, as that could affect me getting “the” picture or not.
Q: Do you help plan out a wedding day schedule?
A: Yes! As your wedding day approaches, we’ll start to discuss the timeline of your day and what would be best for the lighting that day. Depending on your ceremony time and the time of year you’re getting married, these factors can greatly affect the lighting in your photos! I want you to maximize your photographs as best as possible, not allowing for adequate time and/or adequate lighting will greatly diminish the outcome of your photographs.
Q: Do you suggest a first look for the wedding day?
A: YES! I cannot stress enough the importance of having a first look for your wedding day. This isn’t the ONLY option, but it definitely is the BEST option for your photo outcome and it really maximizes your time after the ceremony with family and friends.
Q: Do you take formal family portraits?
A: Yes. I request a full list of family groupings at least two weeks before the wedding day or you must inform those family members so they are aware on your wedding day. This way, we don’t forget anyone and you walk away with all your family photos. You will also need to assign someone to call out names and gather the family members since we do not know who they are. Family portraits are usually done in nice natural light either before the ceremony or after the ceremony depending on lighting.
Q: How do we secure our wedding date with you?
A: A fully executed signed contract along with a 50% deposit is required to secure your wedding date.
Q: How many weddings a year do you shoot?
A: It varies! I only book a limited number of weddings per year. I value quality over quantity and I post process all my own work rather than sending it off to a lab to be edited. What you see is what you get!
Q: What if we cancel or change our wedding date after we signed the contract?
A: If your wedding date is canceled or the date has been changed, your deposit will be kept in full. Once your contract and deposit are received I turn down any other bookings on that date. The deposit guarantees that I hold your date exclusively for you, therefore all other bookings will be turned down. If the date changes and if I am available, no worries I’ll change the date with an updated contract & all has been restored.
Q: Do you require a meal?
A: Yes please & thank you! I prefer to eat at the same time as you and your guest so I am able to continue your coverage as your night proceeds.
Q: What is your overtime rate?
A: I charge $200.00 for any hour over what the contract is signed for. This is of course always discussed and confirmed with you before doing so.
Q: Do you travel? If so, how far? What are the costs?
A: Yes! I LOVE traveling for weddings. I will travel all around this beautiful planet. Travel fees will be quoted and applied when the location is more than 30 miles away from my central location.
Q: How long does the engagement session take?
A: Engagement sessions usually take one to two hours. I don’t like to put a time frame on any of my sessions because I don’t want you or me to feel rushed. If we’re done early, great! If you want to take a few more, no problem!
Q: Where are you located?
A: I am based in Central Florida (Orlando), however I travel throughout the entire state of Florida & destinations by request. Travel fees apply.
Q: What methods of payment do you accept?
A: I accept cash, check, and credit card.
Q: Do you have business insurance?
A: Yes!
Q: We aren’t sure if we want an engagement session or not, do you think we should?
A: Most of my wedding collections include a complimentary engagement session and here’s why you should definitely do one. I think it’s a great idea for multiple reasons. During the time we spend together for your engagement session, we get to know each other, laugh, and share stories. You two will become comfortable with me and being in front of my camera. By the wedding day, we won’t be strangers and you two will be totally okay with me taking SO many pictures of you lol! I also get to see how you two interact and the best ways to photograph you, ultimately giving you even better pictures on your big day! Plus they are fun!
Q: Can we edit any of the pictures you give us?
A: The answer is no and here is why. There are so so many reasons why I say that. Reason #1, I spend days and weeks editing your images to perfection. Reason #2, you hire me for my style, in both posing and editing, so I have to assume you like my editing style and don’t want to change a thing. Reason #3, I’m not just a service and a person who owns a nice camera, I’m an artist with a style of my own who wants my work to be shown to friends and family as I see it. Reason #4, you wouldn’t buy a finished painting and then paint over it now would you?
What’s an ‘unplugged’ wedding? Should we do that?
A: An unplugged wedding is when you STRONGLY encourage your guests to keep their phones and cameras down at the wedding. My vote? UNPLUG IT.
Do I have permission to print the photos? Can I use them on Facebook/everywhere else?
A: Yes, you do! All my sessions come with a print release and the digital files, which is why prints are not included in my collections. You may print where you please, however remember that depending on where you print your images will affect the quality of your images so choose wisely!
